Ponder the Proverbs of Solomon: Sage wisdom from the wisest of men.
About
Solomon wrote some three-thousand proverbs. His uncanny ability to read people and events remains legendary. When used as a daily reader and life coaching tool the Proverbs record valuable insights for gaining the wisdom that informs thinking, attitudes, and practice. Repetitive themes of righteousness, most often denoted wisdom, prudence, justice, equity, and discretion contrast sharply with wickedness typified as simple minded, evil, foolish, scoffers, perverse, devious, or indolent.
Book one in a series of life coaching reflections and mediations based on Solomon’s Proverbs, Pondering is a thought provoking, critical examination of beliefs and core values.
Pondering challenges contemporary notions of conduct, behavioral norms, unveils the nature and source of true wisdom and includes candid discussion on significant spiritual issues: Scripture Relevance, God and Evil, Is Jesus the Messiah?, Handling the Scripture, Saving Faith, Forgiveness, and Prayer. Each Proverb is paired with companion readings from the NKJV and Ponder Points that editorialize choices, behavior, attitudes, and belief. Other topics include a bio-short on Solomon and the drama spawned in a bigamous royal family, a snapshot of united Israel during his reign, and lesser-known Temple Mount history.
Ponder the Points
Fact: You will make unfortunate and even colossally bad choices – it’s part of life. Strength of character and commitment to personal integrity determines how you deal with and mitigate the bad stuff.
Fact: It’s not all good! Life experiences wound and scar deeply. Experience has the insidious power to shape and channel the future, and while some are valuable lessons others can be debilitating and crushing.
Fact: Time once past, like a thing said, is irretrievable. There is no turning back the clock for do-overs or unsaying what has been said.
Challenge: Will you, from the sound advice of the sage and knowing, profit from what they share?
For young adults, men and women.
